Beach Snack Shack Attendant

OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF JOB

Responsible for providing excellent customer service, food preparation, maintaining a clean and organized environment, as well as additional duties in relation to daily operations at Two Mile Run County Park.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB

1. Greets and assists customers in a friendly and efficient manner.

2. Prepares and serves a variety of snacks, beverages, and light meals according to established guidelines. This may include grilling, frying and assembling orders.

3. Operate the cash register, handle cash and card transactions accurately and provide correct change.

4. Maintains a clean and sanitary work environment. This includes cleaning cooking equipment, counters, floors and other used surfaces regularly.

5. Monitors inventory levels and restocks supplies as needed. Informs correct parties of any shortages.

6. Follows all food safety and hygiene regulations. Ensures all health and safety standards are met.

7. Processes boat rentals and waivers as well as beach fees.

8. Works collaboratively with other staff members to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

 

OTHER DUTIES OF JOB

1. Attends meetings and/or training sessions as required.

2. Assists with daily park functions as needed.

3. Performs other job-related duties as required.

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Receives instructions and supervision from Park Director and Department Clerk III.

 

SUPERVISION GIVEN

None.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

1. Works outdoors frequently in park and beach areas.

2. Frequent exposure to outdoor dust/dirt, noise.

3. Subject to periodically working in adverse conditions depending on the nature of job assignment.

 

PHYSICAL/MENTAL CONDITIONS

1. Must possess ability to record, convey and present information, explain procedures and follow instructions.

2. Must be able to move frequently throughout the workday as needed to carry out essential job duties.

3. Must be able to pay close attention to details and concentrate on work.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience in food service or customer service is a plus, but not required. Training will be provided. Must be at least 15 years old. Minors will be required to provide a work permit during pre-employment process.

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

· Must not appear on Preclusion Lists as defined by “Pennsylvania’s Medical Assistance Bulletin 99-11-05 Provider Screening of Employees and Contractors for Exclusion from Participating in Federal Healthcare Programs.”

· Must successfully pass pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

1. Must be able to speak and understand the English language in an understandable manner in order to carry out essential functions of job.

2. Must possess good communication and interpersonal skills.

3. Must possess ability to function independently, have flexibility and the ability to work effectively with clients, co-workers and others.

4. Must possess the technical knowledge of operating personal computers and other office equipment with accuracy and reasonable speed.

5. Must possess general knowledge of modern office practices and procedures and ability to apply same to essential duties of job.

6. Must possess knowledge and ability to practice current and accurate usage of grammar, spelling and filing procedures.

7. Must possess ability to learn assigned clerical tasks and adhere to prescribed departmental procedures.

8. Must possess ability to perform simple math calculations with accuracy and reasonable speed.

9. Must be able and willing to work flexible hours; weekends are required during special events and when needed during the summer.
