Fall is fast approaching, as is VARHA’s 22nd annual benefit auction—An Evening of Making a Difference. The event will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Wildcat Mansion. This is our largest and most important fundraiser of the year. Maintaining our current level of service to children and adults with disabilities depends on the success of all of our fundraisers, but this year’s auction income is more critical than ever. Our operational expenses are steadily rising despite increasing challenges in fundraising activities. Historically, our fees cover only about 10 percent of our operating income, and we have more demand than ever for our services. So far in 2023, we have awarded our spring and summer session riders almost $3,000 in scholarship funds because many have little or no ability to pay even a small fee.
