Festivities and registration for PA Stone Skipping Competition begins at 10 AM. The PA Stone Skipping Competition begins at 11 AM for Youth (12 & under). Amateurs will compete at Noon (13 & up). Professionals compete at 1 PM. Awards will be presented after each division. Those who have not previously qualified as a Pro, must first participate in the Amateur Category and if they score 30 skips or more – they may then register in the Professional Division. The 2020 PA Stone Skipping Champion, Dave Ohmer (50 Skips), Guinness World Record Holder Kurt “Mountain Man” Steiner (88 skips) along with many other Professional skippers will be competing. At the end of the Stone Skipping Competition, a number of the pros will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for Skimming Stones. This is judged by distance the stone travels, rather than number of skips. ESPN Ocho 8 will be on hand to cover the action.

The following nearby parking lots are available for spectators: former Salvation Army Building, Elk & 8th Street, the VFW Parking Lot on 9th Street, the C.D.C. Parking Lot at Elk & 7th Street and Saint Patrick’s Parking Lot at corner of Buffalo & 10th Street.

For kids there will be crafts, rock painting and balloon sculptures. Food will be available. O.A.R.S. will offer kayak demos.
