ORAS Virtual Public Night: “Remote Telescope Observing”
September 7 @ 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm
freeOur next presentation on “Remote Telescope Observing” will surprise you with what you can do using telescopes from around the world, while never leaving the comforts of home. Just think of it, no cold nights, no long trips to dark sites, no heavy telescope lifting and long set-up times. Remote Observing has all of that taken care of, while still giving you the chance of a lifetime to collect images, process them, and see the universe through your own perspective.
ORAS member Dan Holler will explain Remote Observing from the smallest telescopes to the largest. The observatory’s 30-inch telescope will be available for observing, weather permitting. For those who cannot come to the observatory, we will be doing a simultaneous live version of Dean’s presentation via Zoom. To prevent spamming, you’ll need to register in advance at https://forms.gle/icaFXFTPYkEyPp4TA, by Thursday, September 5. You’ll receive a sign-up link by e-mail on Saturday, September 7.
