New Orleans R & B Party with The Colbys!

June 22 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Celebrate the beginning of summer with a New Orleans R&B Party in beautiful Foxburg with a star-studded night of entertainment with THE COLBYS. This New Orleans style, piano driven R&B band, steeped in swing, gospel and blues is a “class act” led by the Grammy, Emmy and Ace award-winning producer/composer, keyboardist and vocalist, JOHN COLBY with acclaimed R&B jazz singer/songwriter BEV ROHLER – the only woman to record with “The Persuasions” who has sung at the Newport Jazz Festival and Village Vanguard and with all the greats from the Mel Lewis Jazz Orchestra to the National Jazz Ensemble.

These two nationally celebrated and seasoned entertainers have been featured world-wide and across the United States with the likes of Ray Charles, Tony Bennett and Willie Nelson, and since recently moving to Pittsburgh they appear weekly in the other ‘burgh’ at Con Alma and other venues. Allegheny RiverStone Center for the Arts is proud to present their Foxburg debut in Lincoln Hall on Saturday, June 22 at 7:30 PM.

“This self-controlled circus of song… This is Entertainment. These are artists who occupy a place in Tradition and live to pass it along from their place of respect. They are not here to show off, they are here to share. They are ebulliently excited to put their love out there and further the cause of the music they serve, and that enthusiasm shows.” Live Music News and Review

Come and party – bring a group of friends and raise a glass to celebrate the summer solstice in style – with Bev Rohlehr on rub board and vocals and John Colby on keys and vocals, joined by Rick Matt, horns; Mike Sweeney, bass; and Brice Foster on drums! This will be a sizzling night of world class entertainment and dancing for those who wish to boogie-on-out at the back of the hall or prefer to enjoy the show in the theatre style seating – where every seat in Lincoln Hall is ‘up close and personal’.

John’s work on ESPN’s “Outside the Lines”and ‘Baseball’ won the ACE award and he is the composer of themes for ESPN’s ‘Sportscenter’ & ESPYs, Fox’s ‘Best Damn Sports Show’, NFL on NBC.
