Cranberry Township’s Board of Parks and Recreation is holding a Car Cruise and Bluegrass Concert in the Park. The event will be held on Saturday, August 19th in Morrison Park located on Allison Road in Seneca.

The event will begin at 4 p.m. with a Car & Motorcycle Cruise In. Owners are encouraged and welcome to bring their cars and motorcycles to the park for show, starting at 4 p.m. Dash plaques will be given to the first 50 participants.

Starting at 5 p.m. there will be a concert featuring bluegrass and country music, with the bands playing until 7 p.m.

The Cranberry Area Lions Club will be on site with their popular food trailer, selling concessions such as their famous hot sausage sandwiches, burgers, fries, hot dogs, and drinks. The first 100 attendees will receive a free hotdog from the Lions food trailer. There will also be a 50/50 raffle. No alcohol is permitted. There is no rain date for the event.

Those planning to attend are reminded to bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating. The bands will be performing near the lower gazebo area in the park. There is no admission fee to attend.

Cranberry Township makes the pavilions and gazebos at both Morrison Park and Moody Pond Park (Rte. 257) available for rental for picnics, parties, showers, weddings, and more. If people are interested in assisting the board with flower planting, mulching and maintenance at the parks, please contact the Township office.

Each year this event in the park grows, and they welcome area residents to join in the fun of a relaxing summer evening of music and food at beautiful Morrison Park. It’s a great chance to check out the recent additions of beautiful flower bed plantings, new benches and picnic tables,as well as the newly repaired surfaces for the tennis/pickle ball areas. The park also boasts a nice walking trail through the woods, located near the rear pond area of the park.
