The Oil Region Astronomical Society invites you to get together with other astronomy enthusiasts at AstroBlast, our six-day star party. It will take place at the Oil Region Astronomy Learning Center, near Camp Coffman. The event will feature dark sky observing from our 12-acre field, with plenty of room for setting up a camper or tent. Bring your own telescope, or take turns using one of ours. Speakers will give talks on various topics, including getting started in astronomy, the rebirth of the Yerkes Observatory, and the total solar eclipse that will be visible on our doorstep in 2024. Other activities will include a Messier marathon, an astronomy yard sale/swap meet, and a door prize drawing. This is a great opportunity to meet and learn from other amateur astronomers!
