Alien Vs. Native Species

May 18, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

free

The Franklin Public Library will be hosting a series of seminars covering a vast array of topics by fellow community members. Please join Ty Ryen at the Franklin Public Library Thursday, May 18 6-7 to discuss Alien vs. Native Species.

Over the past several hundred years, humans have imported or bred plants to suit their cultural, aesthetic, and environmental needs. However, some of these efforts have enabled several species to escape, only to cause havoc in the local ecosystem. Recognition of the problems these invasive plants cause is growing, while threats to native ecosystems are increasing.

This presentation from DCNR, Bureau of Forestry will introduce you to resources to help stop the introduction and spread of these invasive plants.

This is a free event and open to all ages.

If there is a topic you would like to present at a Community Conversation Seminar, please contact the Franklin Public Library 814-432-5062 or info@oilregionlibraries.net
