The Fertigs Community Center will hold the second annual “First Responders Day for Kids” on Saturday, May 20 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The purpose of this event is to highlight the importance of First Responders for our communities in a family friendly setting. During the event, the youth in our area will have the opportunity to meet and recognize their local First Responders, view demonstrations and gain a learning experience in staying safe. Participating in this event will be area Fire Departments from Pinegrove, Cornplanter, Rocky Grove, Rockland, and Sandy Creek; EMT and Ambulance crews from Community Ambulance Service and Knox Area Volunteer Ambulance Company; Police Departments from Oil City and Venango County Sheriff’s Office; The K-9 Response Search Team West Division; and also, LifeFlight with a helicopter (New departments are being added daily) .

We will have snow cones and goodie bags free for the kids (while supplies last).

The kitchen will be open selling a light dinner at family friendly prices (see our Facebook page for the full menu). The Fertigs United Methodist Church will be at the event selling their yummy desserts.

Opening ceremony will take place at 4:00pm with the raising of the flag by the Boy Scouts and a speech by Pastor David McVay.
