Join the park naturalist on a 1.5 mile hike along the Gerard Hiking Trail as we explore one of the many famous stories from “The wickedest town east of the Mississippi.” We’ll meet at the Petroleum Petroleum Centre Train Station and trek past the Petroleum Centre Cemetery, eventually coming to the Benninghoff Tableau. The naturalist will offer pieces of the historic Benninghoff Robbery story, where $250,000 went missing overnight! Who done it? Was the money recovered? Come find out!

This hike is fairly easy, but there are hilly and rocky sections. Please wear comfortable hiking shoes, and bring something to drink.
