The Lyrical Landscape is an exhibition of recent paintings by Oil City artist, CJ Hurley. The show opens September 8th and runs through October 14th. CJ is a nationally known artist and a Master Painter in the Roycroft Artisan’s Guild. He loves sharing his art with the local community.

The exhibition is composed of Watercolor and India Ink paintings on handmade papers. CJ views nature as sacred and portrays the underlying sanctity of the natural world through idealized images of profound beauty and consequence.

Free programs for the community: CJ received an artist’s grant through Erie Arts & Culture supporting a series of education programs, artist talks and demonstrations during the 5-week exhibit. He will give a special art history lecture titled “The Romantic Legacy” on September 16th. Special Events are free and open to the Public.
