Have you always wanted to get into backpacking, but didn’t feel comfortable going at it alone? Join the park naturalist on this women-only backpacking trip in Oil Creek State Park. We’ll meet at the park office before heading out on a 5-mile hike to our shelter site, where we’ll make dinner, relax, and enjoy the night life at the park. The next morning we’ll break camp and hike 5 miles back to the office. The park has all necessary gear available if you do not have your own. It is strongly recommended that you attend the Backpacking 101 course being held at the Oil City Library on Tuesday, August 22 to prepare for this trip, especially if this will be your first backpacking trip.
