Wildcatter Day at Historic Pithole City
June 10, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Join us at Historic Pithole City for WILDCATTER DAY on Saturday, June 10th, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.! Begin your day at the site’s Visitor Center, featuring an orientation film and indoor exhibits including a detailed diorama of the Oil Region’s most notorious boomtown! Various 19th century living history demonstrations and activities are featured for the entire family to enjoy throughout the day such as blacksmiths, coopering, spinning and weaving, and more. Guided walking tours will be available at 11 a.m. followed by stories of the Oil Region at Noon, presented by the legendary storyteller Gib Morgan himself! And you will not want to miss the demonstration by an authentic 19th century doctor/surgeon reenactor, scheduled for 1 p.m. The popular “lease sales” will return once again, offering visitors a chance to purchase a “lease” on an historic Pithole property! Food and merchandise will also be available for purchase. Admission to the event is $5 for adults, $3 for children.
