I love all the things going on in our area.
I grew up in Oil City, lived in Fort Worth, Texas, for a brief period, then found my way back to our region, where I now reside in Cornplanter Township.
I’ve worked for various companies, but I’m proud to now work for Klapec Trucking Company, where I’ve been for the last 22 years. I started as a parts and inventory manager and, over time, I ended up in the logistics department. I am lucky to work for a great company that is very family oriented.
I’m a big thrift and antique shopper, and we have so many great places to do that in Venango County, like Liberty Street Antiques in Franklin and the Oil City Warehouse Mall. I’m also a fan of being outdoors and exploring in my jeep.
I really like eating at the Taco Shack, Casey’s Restaurant, and Scierka’s Tavern. Scierka’s Tavern has the best craft beer selection in the area, too!
While I don’t believe you need to leave Venango County to find success, I do think if you leave the area and return, it really opens your eyes to how lucky we are here.
The Leadership Venango program really helped me become more connected and learn more about our community. I am thinking about volunteering more and I might even look into local politics–I want to do what I can to bring more businesses and people to the area.
Venango County is a great place to live, work, and play. Yes, there are some things we may not have, but we are all working to improve that. The positives definitely outweigh any negatives.
