Giving Thanks

The holiday season is upon us, which brings full schedules of family gatherings, work parties, and community events. During the busy next couple of months, it can be easy to get caught up in everything and forget to take a minute to recognize all that you have, in your own life and in this community.

In all communities, there are people in need, people who are comfortable, and people who have more than enough. It’s easy to lose sight of the fact that we are all in this together—working to make this area the best place for us to live, work, and play.

As Thanksgiving approaches, we suggest you take some time to be more aware of what you have in your life and be grateful for it. Whether it’s family and friends, a warm home, food on your table, a loving community, or whatever in your life makes you happy.

We also encourage you to recognize the needs in our community and give to others when you can, especially those who may not have as comfortable of a life as you. Volunteer at a food pantry or clothes closet, donate items or money to a charity, help your neighbor shovel their sidewalk, or just spend time with people you know need some company.

We wish you a Happy Thanksgiving and well wishes throughout the holiday season. We appreciate that you have made the choice to call Venango County your home, and we are thankful for the many amazing community members in our area!
